*'Cococraft: From Waste to Wonder - Beautiful Art from Coconut Waste' Program Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Dattajirao Kadam Arts, Science and Commerce College, Ichalkaranji on World Coconut Day*


Ichalkaranji: The Department of Botany and IQAC of Dattajirao Kadam Arts, Science and Commerce College, Ichalkaranji, jointly organized an innovative program titled 'Cococraft – From Waste to Wonder' on the occasion of World Coconut Day, on 2nd September 2026 in the college auditorium.

The objective of this activity was to encourage students to creatively and in an eco-friendly manner reuse waste coconut materials and to create useful and attractive products from them. Students created various artworks and useful items using coconut shells, husk, coir, leaves and other coconut waste materials.

In this, various artworks were created including pots from coconut shells, pen stands, bird feeders, coconut lamps, wall hangings, decorative items from coir, etc. Students presented an excellent display of their imagination and creativity through this medium.

In the activity, creativity and innovation, effective use of waste coconut components, utility, environmental and sustainable value, as well as presentation and explanation were considered.

This activity created awareness among students about creativity, innovation, team spirit as well as environmental conservation and waste management. This program, which gave the message of 'Art from Waste and Sustainability through Art', proved to be inspiring for the students.

The activity was inaugurated by Hon. Prof. Dr. Suresh Patil Sir, Dr. Jeevan Ghodke, Dr. V. B. Thorbole, Prof. Prabhakar V. Patil, Dr. Amol Sonawane, Prof. Dr. Shahaji Patil, Maloji V. Kadam (Registrar), Principal Dr. S. K. Khade, Head of Department Prof. S. T. Ingle, and Dr. S. D. Patil.

All teaching and non-teaching staff and students of the Botany Department were present. The organizers expressed their resolve to organize such eco-friendly activities in the future as well.

वनस्पतिशास्त्र विभागामार्फत  वनस्पतिशास्त्र विभाग व इनरव्हेल  क्लब ऑफ कोल्हापूर  यांच्या संयुक्त विदयमानाने माले ता. हातकणंगले या ठिकाणी वृक्षारोपनाचा कार्यक्रम  संपन्न... इचलकरंजी दिनांक - 16 सप्टेंबर 2025 इचलकरंजी येथील दत्ताजीराव कदम आर्ट्स कॉमर्स अँड सायन्स या महाविद्यालयातील वनस्पतिशास्त्र विभागातर्फे वृक्षारोपनाचा  उपक्रम राबविण्यात आला.या वेळी प्रमुख पाहुणे   डॉ. टी.एम. चौगुले  (Director N.S.S. and D.S.W.शिवाजी विद्यापीठ.) हे होते व वइनरव्हेल  क्लब ऑफ कोल्हापूर चे खजानिस दिव्या घाटगे. यांची प्रमुख उपस्थिती होती .या कार्यक्रमाचे अध्यक्ष आपल्या महावि‌द्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. एस. के. खाडे हे होते. या प्रसंगी कार्यक्रमाचे चे प्रामुख पाहुण्यांनी वृक्षारोपणाचे  महत्त्व समजावून सांगितले. या कार्यक्रमाचे सुत्रसंचालन डॉ. निलेश जाधव  सर यांनी केले तर आभार प्रदर्शन डॉ. सारिका पाटील यांनी केले. यावेळी B.Sc, B.A, B.com च्या विद्यार्थ्यांनी सहभाग घेतला एकुण ५५-६० वृक्षांचे वृक्षारोपन केले त्या मध्ये वड,पिंपळ,रानबेल,पळस या वृक्षांचा समावेश ह...

*वनस्पतीशास्त्र विभागाच्या वतीने विशेष क्षेत्रभेट व अभ्यास पर्यटन उत्साहात*   डिकेएएससी महाविद्यालयातील वनस्पतीशास्त्र विभागाच्या वतीने इस्लामपूर-तळसंदे-किल्ले पन्हाळागड येथे विशेष क्षेत्रभेट व अभ्यास पर्यटनाचे आयोजन केले होते. *इस्लामपूर* मधील *सिद्धांत जाधव यांनी उभारलेल्या"गीता मारुती नॅचरल फूड्स"* ला भेट दिली.सिद्धांत जाधव हे छोट्याश्या जागेत Algae(शेवाळ) spirulina पासून टॅबलेट निर्मिती करतात.या टॅबलेट प्रोटीनयुक्त असून याचा वापर जनावरांचे,दूध वाढ,कच्चे व चांगले अन्न म्हणून दैनंदिन आहारात वापरतात.
