Plant of the Week

On August 13, 2024, the Department of Botany organized a weekly plant display activity for the year 2024-25 which was inaugurated by the Principal Dr. S. M. Maner, DKASC college Ichalkaranji. The Chief Guest for this function was Dr. Krushnmurti, Principle of Ramkrushna Parmahans Law College, Dharashiv. The introduction for this function was delivered by Dr. S. T Ingle, Head of Department, Botany.  The purpose of this weekly plant display is to teach all Botany students about Plant information including its identification, family, morphological characteristics and medicinal properties. For this activity, all faculty members were present. All B.Sc I, II and III students were attended this activity.

In this activity, one of the B.Sc III students brought a single plant twig every week to the department. The plant identification is carried by the assistance of departmental teachers and Flora, then the students display the plant twig together with all of its details in the designated display corner.

The purpose of the activity is to make awareness in the students and other subject faculty members about plant importance, its necessity and conservation.
